WALK UP THE AISLE IN STYLE - from InMagazine

Want to have the tips for the spring wedding? hear what the styling expert Eva Roth Lindsay say:

You want to look your best on your wedding day? Follow Colour Me Beautiful’s style and beauty advice to ensure you look fabulous.

To start, think about your perfect wedding day from beginning to end. What does it include? Look through bridal magazines for ideas to get you started. Look for dress, hair and makeup styles but also look for flowers, decorations and don’t forget the groom!

It doesn’t matter what type of wedding you’re planning, finding the perfect dress for your big day can be a big challenge. Brides today have much more opportunity to make their own choices. Even Princess Catherine chose her own dress and didn’t she look beautiful?

Following the trends of the season will keep you looking good and up to date. Vintage, retro-inspired weddings can be given a modern twist. Think of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wed-ding, with Kate in a gorgeous modern take on the classic romantic wedding dress. Vintage wedding dresses can include a princess ball gown style dress with luxurious textures in delicate lace, vintage beading and embroidery in creamy antique white, pale grey, sage green and buttermilk yellow. Wearing estate jewellery, pearls, hair combs and tiaras completes this look.

The modern bride is wearing more of a modern sleek and chic style. Think short and sweet, and look for a less traditional style such as shorter cocktail strapless or one shoulder dress. Dresses can be white to get the effect of the ‘little white dress’ or you can try one of the new brighter colours of the season. Add a pair of plat-form pumps and you will make the perfect modern bride. Instead of a big veil, try a fascinator or a flower on the side of your hair.

The hottest colour stories for Spring 2011 are tropical brights or sunwashed pastels. Pink or hot pink looks newest when mixed with greens such as apple green, celadon, pine green and jade. Coral, salmon, tangerine and terracotta mix beautifully with turquoise or gold accessories. Lilac, lavender, violet, mauve and purple are a gorgeous combination. Classic colours include red, navy, emerald, burgundy and sunshine yellow.

No matter what your natural colouring is, there are colours that will look best on you. To find the perfect shade for your dress have a look at your skin tone. If you have a golden tone then you will look better in a softer and creamier white as well as warmer golden shades such as coral and peach. If you are pinky then you can wear a pure white or champagne plus pinks, blues, taupe and grey.

Remember your wedding photos of your bridal party will include your groom, bridesmaids, flower girls and parents. Select colours that work for everyone and also work well together. One of the latest trends in weddings is having your bridesmaid pick out her own dress to wear. This works wonderfully as the bridesmaid will get to wear her dress after the wedding. Just select the colour and let her do the rest. A lovely look is to have each bridesmaid wear her own style in varying shades of the same colour. The grooms and best men can also wear these colours in a tie or a waistcoat. Then your wedding photos will look amazing!

Every bride wants to look radiant on her wedding day. Take the time to learn your best makeup colours to wear and how to apply them so that you look natural and camera ready all day. If you really want to know your best colours, see a Colour Me Beautiful colour consultant. She will be able to coordinate everything to make sure you look as beautiful as the princess you are.

Little Wedding Tips (VII) - 結婚小貼士 (VII)

 Wedding Style
If you're marrying in an open, white space like a loft, an art gallery, a photo studio, or a tent, embrace the airy effect by keeping the lines modern and sleek when it comes to your décor. But steer clear of accenting with a single strong color -- it will overwhelm this blank canvas.

Favors & Gifts
In lieu of giving favors, consider donating to a cause you and your groom support. Then display the donations you're making with fabric-backed cards on an easel-style board.

Favors & Gifts(2)
If you're looking for a party favor your guests can actually use, simple canvas totes serve as earth-friendly carryalls for groceries or gym clothes. Add a personal touch with custom-designed labels that play up your wedding style.

Accessories
Red is our new favorite color for wedding accessories. The deepest shades of crimson have regal, Renaissance-era associations, while brighter shades can make an all-white wedding ensemble look peppermint stick-crisp, flirty and fun, or Joan Holloway-sexy. Try brightening up your look with a pair of fierce red heels, a crimson sash, or a red hair accessory.

Music & Entertainment
Requesting covers of favorite classics and/or popular hits is an easy way to jazz up your playlist while keeping guests of all ages happy, entertained, and inclined to boogie. For instance, if you "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," try requesting it by Lauryn Hill instead of Frankie Valli for a new spin on an upbeat cocktail hour.

Kate's wedding gown tribute to another princess bride: Grace Kelly

We love Grace Kelly.

She is so charming and elegant when she was wearing her high-waisted gown with a  intricate lace appliqué bodice and sleeves in long and dramatic train at her wedding in 1956. It was a timeless look. No wonder even 55 years later now when Kate Middleton choose a dress that so resemble the classic look in her royal wedding. Among all the elements present in the dress, the lace from French lace maker Sophie Hallette completes the look.

The Sophie Hallette lace selected by Sarah Burton, Kate's dress designer, is an exclusive model designed in 1958 and was manufactured on artisanal looms that are more than 100 years old. The roses, daffodils and shamrocks of the particularly dainty floral motif were cut out from the original lace and hand-sewn onto the silk tulle of the decollete, sleeves and train by the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace, using a Carrickmacross lace-making technique, which originates from 1820's Ireland.

Even Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld said, 'It's very pretty, and relatively classic, but that goes with the decor, with a little touch of the 1950s that recalls Marilyn Monroe or Queen Elizabeth's dress... the lace is pretty, especially the embroidered veil and the tiara not too high, without too heavy a bun. It's ravishing and the length of the train is perfect.'

We love Kate, too.
